How to Save Money while Saving the Planet
Here are some ways to cut costs while helping to keep the planet clean.
When storing leftovers or extra food that needs to be sealed, use reusable containers such as Rubbermaid, glass containers or food grade silicone bags.
Instead of using chemicals to wash your face and putting the chemicals down your drain, use a Makeup Eraser. The Makeup Eraser allows you to wash your face with just water, and it is washable. You are able to use the wash cloth for 7 days before it needs to be washed allowing for less water waste washing wash cloths daily.
When washing dishes use crochet scrubbies. They allow you to clean your dishes with a little bit of friction that won’t hurt your bakeware. You are able to wash these in your washer. No waste like using disposable sponges or the wands with the disposable sponges.
Recycling products such as paper and plastics may not save you money but will definitely help to keep the planet a cleaner place for the next generation. Also, make sure to properly recycle your electronics. Many cities and counties have recycling programs that will take your old electronics to keep them out of the landfills.
We know that buying cases of water isn’t the best for the environment. Invest in a good BPA-free plastic or glass tumbler to enjoy your water daily.
Another way to help the planet and the animals, cut your plastic rings that come with your beverages to prevent animals getting stuck in them.
Instead of throwing away clothes or unused items, donate them. Donate your items to Goodwill, Salvation Army and Crisis Nursery.
Lastly, make your own cleaner that is all natural and better for the environment. Use baking soda, vinegar and water in a spray bottle to clean different surfaces.
